Councillor Paul Ainslie is committed to the community. He has lived in eastern Scarborough all his life. Councillor Paul Ainslie has proven to be one of the hardest working Councillors at City Hall. Paul gets things done!
 
Paul's Action Plan:
  • Keep crime rates in eastern Scarborough the lowest in GTA.
  • Add recreation programs suited to community needs including seniors.
  • Continued to hold monthly Town Hall meetings. Monthly virtual meetings were held during the Covid guidelines. Paul held more than 100 meetings last term.
  • Completed the Clark Centre for the Arts and Guild Park and Gardens projects. The park is a vibrant popular destination. A Beautiful Scarborough Gem.
  • Continues to host support all arts, also co-hosting the Guild Alive with Culture Arts Festival for the last 15 years. 
  • Build a Job Skills Training Centre to fight youth unemployment.
  • Supported the implementation of a GO Transit advance schedule to run every 15 minutes on Lakeshore East.
  • Relocated city employee jobs to Scarborough for better service.
  • Succeeding in reducing speed limits around all schools to 30km.
  • Complete the Scarborough Waterfront Trail.
  • Implement a seize and destroy law to ensure guns are not resold.
  • Succeeded in securing City funds for the Eglinton East LRT - Province and Federal funding now needed. 
  • Supporting affordable housing projects.
  • Introducing Business Improvement Areas – Eglinton Avenue - Lawrence Avenue - Ellesmere Avenue - Markham Road.
  • Created Increased programming for Markham and Lawrence.
  • Help create more community associations.
  • Established 705 Progress Avenue Community Hub.
  • Brought Bikeshare Programs to eastern Scarborough.
  • Build a Living Arts Centre/Complex in Scarborough.
  • Continues to Build more accessible playgrounds and new Parks.
  • Improve the quality of life for all.
